Icrontic Gaming Reviews Popcorn Supercollider

Check out this great review of popcorn Supercollider over at Icrontic Gaming excerpted below:

The kernels are coming. My darkest nightmares are coming to life. It was as if every childhood fear I ever had about popcorn was destined to intertwine with my life as a starship captain.

People Actually Use "Bing"... and a new game in the works

Okay, so after last week's rant, I've been reviewing our server logs over at our other website and am shocked to find people actually are searching with "Bing"... I guess the next step is to compare that to the prior volume of live.com searching... and maybe Microsoft is piping them automatically through the OS or internet explorer.

P.S. Working on a top-secret new game. It's going to be a lot of fun. Popcorn Supercollider was great because we got to play with tactile nature of the touch screen and the accelerometer combination, and realistic 2-D physics to produce something kind of fun. Our next game is going to be 3-D.

More about popcorn Supercollider - Video Edition!

Here are a few badly edited and badly captured shots of me playing popcorn Supercollider on my iPod touch. Yes, it is fun! P.S. The game plays much better on the new generation iPhone and iPod touch -- I tested it on our 1st generation phone...

popcorn Supercollider - Screenshot & More

popcorn Supercollider Screenshot popcorn Supercollider is an addictive new arcade game for the iPhone and iPod touch. At the start of each level, popcorn falls onto the bottom of your screen. Wait for it to heat and pop, then push the popped corn into the mouth. Don't run out of time before you eat enough popcorn to advance to the next level!

Are you ready to eat popcorn, and save your puny world? Yes!

Don't forget to update your iPod touch or iPhone to the latest version of the iPhone OS, and press "noise" to get the full stereo popcorn eating experience. Yum!

"Bing" it?

I don't think so. Pardon me for a non app and non game related post, but since I heard about Microsoft's new search engine plan, my head has been buzzing with incredulity. Are they serious? Do they really think people associate "bing" with anything other than obnoxious mid-western insurance salesmen (cf. Groundhog Day) or as the natural follower of "bada"? Perhaps Microsoft intends to resign itself to the Jersyite Italian American and Midwestern regional sales-rep audience, in which case their dreamy hi-res backdrops and gradient shaded UI elements might come off as a tad too sophisticated. If Microsoft really thinks people will say "bing-it" then, coming from Brooklyn, I have some bridge real-estate they might be interested in.

It also happens to be the 25th anniversary of Tetris today. While popcorn Supercollider isn't necessarily the brain-boosting equal of Tetris, we're addicted to its smooth gameplay, ridiculous sounds, secret surprises, hidden levels, and popcorn munching goodness.

Small caveat -- sound is disabled on startup the first time you run the game, so just press "noise" and sound will play and play on default every time. Will fix this ASAP.
